Ty Pradigo is a cottage located in Morbihan 12 km from the large town of Pontivy in Brittany. It is in the small hamlet of Le Pradigo with a grocers shop and creperie. It is in walking distance, 800m,  from the village of Guern which has a few shops including a good boulangerie, a couple of bars, one which does very reasonable workers lunches during the week.

On Wednesday evenings there will be take-away pizzas available from a pizza van that will be parked in the covered market area in the centre of Guern.

For those of you who can't stray too far from a computer there are even plans for a "Cybercafe"!

Although Pontivy has everything you need, I prefer going to the smaller and much prettier town of  Guemene-sur-Scorff which is 11km away. There is a good Intermarche supermarket here (with a fresh fish counter). Up in the town there is an excellent craft bakery and an English-run cafe where you can surf the internet and tuck into an English breakfast. But for me the the real star is at the top end of the main street where you will one of the best bars in Brittany.

"Les Trois Marchands" dates from 1600. This place is a real gem, it is a charming, atmospheric place where the landlord, a music afficionado, always has an interesting mix of music on, from Irish or Breton Folk Music to the cool Jazz of Stan Getz! He aslo serves local Breton real ales. Coreff Ambree, a Real Ale brewed in Morlaix, is always on tap and traditionally served through a hand pump. There is also a cute restaurant serving meals at lunchtimes from Tuesday through to Saturday.

Being in the heart of the country it is very quiet and there are four lovely signposted walks, from 2-3 ½ hours long in the area, one of which you can start from Ty Pradigo itself, or you can just stroll down the little road to the river Sarre about 5 minutes away.
